The moment you enter the Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder you will feel like you have just arrived at an art museum. With over 400 unique pieces from Native American artists, you will find everything from paintings to pottery, sculptures and weavings. The resort has been inspired by the Po’suwae’geh Owingeh pueblo traditions to create an enchanting experience in every room and public area, and any art lover will love going on a self-guided tour to discover all the art.
The rooms of the resort are quite spread out, and as a result you might have to walk long distances between one spot and another. If walking too much is a potential issue, ask for a room closer to the casino side or to the elevators, however as these tend to be noisy at times, it is best to have a room above the 3rd floor. For a quieter stay, ask for a room on the spa side.
The Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder organizes a variety of shows and events on a regular basis, ranging from music concerts and tributes shows to food festivals and sporting events. Most events are suitable for guests of all ages, and you will find a few to choose from every week. Tickets can be booked online or from the Buffalo Thunder Box Office.
If you are bringing your pet on holiday with you, aside from offering pet-friendly rooms, you can make use of the Dog Park for a bit of playtime, or head to the Butterfly Trail if you want to take your dog for a walk. And if you don’t want to leave your pet alone in the room while you dine, the Red Sage Patio restaurant is dog-friendly. Please note that dogs have to be under 70 lb to stay at the resort and an additional fee of $75 applies for that service.
If you are looking at using public transport to get to your accommodation, you can hop on bus line 50 or 250 heading towards downtown Albuquerque and get off at the ABQ RailRunner train station, where you can get a train to Santa Fe. Once you arrive, you can get the Buffalo Thunder shuttle bus to reach the resort. The total time for this trip will be about 2h, so if time is of essence for you, a quicker transfer would be by using a taxi or renting a car from the airport, in which case the trip will take a bit over 1h. A private taxi ride will cost about $160, while the fare for a shared ride shuttle bus will be about $60.(Prices checked 06/05/19).
