Pros:
The drop off was super easy.Cons:
I think I was fooled into paying that ~$23 for a car with gas. I did not use very much gas at all in the <24hrs that I had the car and the gas prices were so cheap in Michigan. I honestly probably used less than $8 worth of gas. I am from California so I did not know any better, I guess.10.0 Wonderful

Pros:
Fairly easy access and drop off. Got a nice car at a reasonable rate and staff was capable and friendly.Cons:
Only wish drop off access was after passenger drop off area so you would not have to drive around the airport loop after dropping off luggage and other passengers.10.0 Wonderful

Sharing the same counter space with another rental company...the other brand had a huge back-lit sign and Alamo had a small square sign placed atop the other sign that you had to know was there to see if you are new to this airport and were looking for the Alamo rental counter.5 locations in Grand Rapids

Pros:
There was no one there at drop-off. We had to write down our mileage and go inside for to the rental office. We wanted a final statement but he said he would email it. 27 hours later, we still don't have it.Cons:
Do NOT give other locations if a person requests the airport rental. We rented from a down town agency without our knowledge. Didnt find out until our flight was delayed and we called to notify them and found out they closed at 5:00pm. Very worrisome and costly to have it changed last minute. NOT GOOD!!10.0 Wonderful

I returned the vehicle two days early because of good weather, but I only got about a $10 credit for returning it early. The credit should have been more.2 locations in Grand Rapids

Aug 2020
Cons:
Advertised as smoke-free cars. Car smelled profusely of cigarette smoke. When asked to change for a different vehicle, customer rep apologized, but said nothing else was available. Reserved a midsize auto and was given an SUV which doubled my gas expense. Vehicle was in need of an oil change and ran out of windshield wiper fluid (alerts went off within a day of picking up my week ling rental.) Company did offer a small discount and were apologetic upon return of vehicle when I spoke to the manger.2.0 Poor

Pros:
I arrived before the rental center opened to pick up my vehicle, which was reserved several days ahead of time. I was to pick up at the 9 am opening. I was told by the counter person my vehicle was not there yet, and I would need to wait. She was very nice, to be clear. Then, after waiting for 20 minutes, I was told by the same woman that my car (a special 12-passenger van needed that day for a family trip) could not be found, and no one at any Avis ops center could help, and/or did not return her calls or texts. I continued to wait while she made calls as line volume permitted. She finally learned that the previous renter had not returned the vehicle and I would have to wait until at least 11. I asked for a substitution and got little help, so I walked down the street to Enterprise and they had the vehicle I was looking for, with a price match. After a 90 minute wait that meant missing other pickup appointments and delaying my family’s trip for nearly two hours, I was on my way - with a van from a competitor. Thanks for nothing, Avis. I will be going down the street to Enterprise from now on.Cons:
Pretty much everything.2.0 Poor

Pros:
A complete joke, I was unable to get my vehicle because I was LIED TO over the phone. I verified over the phone that I would be able to pick up the bricks despite being under 25, where I was reassured I could still get it due to waived rules because of covid. Because of this I did not get my vehicle and was late for the next bout of traveling for my vacation. Absolutely no remorse from employees at store as well. Will NEVER recommend.Cons:

Pros:
The staff was friendly, efficient, and did not try to pressure me to purchase services I did not want or need. His instructions for finding the car wete good.Cons:
Bevause of Covid19 thete were few customers and many cars in the return area. The signage told me to park in an area already filled, the signs should have been moved. However the one employee in the return area was very busy with many things to accomplish. I got it figured out fine.6.4 Okay

Pros:
Rented a mini van for a family trip. Had a dodge caravan which was a nice car, well maintained and comfortable. Good gas mileage considering the size of the vehicle.Cons:

Cons:
I ordered a small SUV which wasn't available. National agent gave me a large NEW SUV and LYING said will all the updates it was great on gas mileage. After an hour was already down 1/4 tank. Played with the buttons and found instead of 30mpg the other would have gotten, I was getting 17mpg. I had 700 miles to drive. Called National and was told to go to nearest airport to exchange. Filled up gas outside of airport (1/2 hour out of way) and called to ask where to park to transfer items to new car. National desk rep said they would not exchange. Would end rental and rent me a new car. I would have to pay for BOTH! After a full on rant by me, the rep finally agreed to give me a tank of gas. Never National again!!One location in Grand Rapids
